You wouldn't leave the house for no apparent reason would you? You know you have to set yourself a goal, whether it be meeting friends, doing your food shopping, picking up the kids from school (or even think of tasks to avoid picking the kids up from school!)
No matter what, you subconciously map out your short, medium and long term goals to reach your end goal!
For example:
Short term goal. Walking to the bus stop
Medium term goal. Choosing the correct bus, getting on and settling in your seat for the journey
Long term goal. Reach the school gates and have your children at your side.
Therefore, why do some people go to the gym without short, medium and long term goals? Without goals we do not have anything in mind to reach for or how to get there.

getFIT 1-2-1 personal training sessions will always have a PT listen to what you as the client wants to get out of your workout, what time frame you have and what you find as the most fun way to exercise. We will gather all these points from you and set you your short, medium and long term goals and describe to you exactly what each one is and promise to reach those goals together within the time frame given.
Examples of 1-2-1 S, M and L term goals:
Goal: Be in the right shape to handle a 15 mile walking event in 6 months time
Short. Perform a 30minute walk or treadmill in the morning, 30minutes in the evening. Stretch out both before and after the walk. Weight train for 15minutes, specifically targetting larger muscle groups.
Medium. Walk 60minutes a day on treadmill four times per week, walk 60minutes outdoors twice a week, introduce stretching and flexibility exercises to prevent injury, weight train twice a week to improve muscle strength and endurance as well as to help burn more calories.
Long. Lose 5% of body fat, walk a 15minute mile, be ready to walk a 15mile marathon in 6 months.
Once your plan has been mapped out you are good to go and it will make exercising more fun, rewarding and allows your workout to have purpose.
